Monaca & Eve

Sadly, for all my best intentions I missed the submission deadline for Sewing Indie Month 😦 My Monaca is partly sewn up and resting on my dress form. I really hope to finish her someday soon so that I can wear her before the temperatures drop ridiculously. I think I should be able to block out some time this weekend, but that depends on how fast I can grade. Some progress picks of the Monaca:

She looks pretty, right?! The fabric is a lightweight polyester (???) chiffon with a slight crinkled texture that was sitting in my stash. The yellow bias tape was a gift from my grandmother from when I was in high school (she was cleaning out her sewing stash and gave me a ton of it). The instructions say to hide the tape, but I thought it was pretty, so I ignored that part.

I did finish one item from my Fall/Winter Planning – Accessories plan – the Eve Infinity Scarf (which I renamed the Cherry Forest Infinity Scarf due to the colors I used)! I am in love with it! It was super easy to knit up. I’m considering making another one for a x-mas gift… Check out the details for the Cherry Forest Infinity Scarf on my projects page at Ravelry. Some pictures below:

Thanks for reading! I will work hard to keep making progress on my F/W projects! Today I’d really like to thank Amy from Make Amy Make for giving me my very first shout out on her MIY Collection Brightside Shrug post. The shrug looks amazing Amy! It is so energizing to connect with amazing sewers that I’d never normally get to meet – don’t you all feel the same?
